August Challenge: Running!

With a team of 3 athletes you will attempt to accumulate 50,000 meters running over the month of August.  You are allowed to team up with any other athletes across all class times in the gym.
There will also be a second part of the challenge: a goal for the entire gym as a whole! We will tell you the # of meters after teams are officially put together (# of teams x 50,000m + 20%).  If the gym reaches that goal, we will choose an athlete’s name randomly and as a team they will get to choose September’s challenge.  If the gym does not reach this goal, the coaches will decide the next challenge.  No Treadmills, Get Outside!
You can choose to break up the meters evenly among your three teammates (16,666meters each), or strategize in your own team way. However, each teammate should at least complete 12,600meters. The running we do as part of our daily workouts and warm-ups will count towards your total meters so don’t lose track!
We will post videos over the course of the month to help with running technique and recovery! Our Dynamic Drive class on Tuesday nights will also have exercises geared towards improving your running!
The goal of this challenge is to become more comfortable with running. Find and encourage those “non-runners” to join your team or do the challenge. Get out there WITH other teams and run before or after class. This bring this gym together and as a whole get athletes more comfortable with running!
Find your team of three, write your names on the whiteboard at the gym and start running!
