Our take on creatine in perimenopause
We get asked a lot: “Should I take creatine after 40? I’ve read it helps with sleep, mood, brain fog…”
Creatine is brilliant for women in perimenopause, it supports muscle strength, recovery, energy and even brain health. There’s some promising research around mood and cognition too.
👉 But… you can’t out-supplement a poor diet and lifestyle.👈
If you’re not eating enough protein, if you’re running on stress hormones, if you’re barely sleeping… creatine won’t suddenly fix brain fog, hot flushes, or low energy.
Think of creatine as the cherry on top.
But you’ve got to bake the cake first.
And that cake is made of:
• Dialled-in nutrition
• Strength training
• Stress management
• Real recovery and sleep
Once those foundations are in place, creatine can be a smart tool. We use it myself but only because our base is solid.
Stop looking for the shortcut. Build the base, then use supplements to support it, not replace it.
