From “All or Nothing” to Consistent and Confident: Karen’s Story

When Karen joined CrossFit Torque last June, she didn’t come in chasing perfection.

She came in tired of the cycle.

Like many people, Karen described herself as “all or nothing” when it came to fitness and nutrition.
When she was all in, she went hard.
And when life got busy or stressful, it quickly became nothing.

Last summer, it was very much the “nothing” phase.

But something was different this time.

Karen wasn’t looking for a restart, a detox, or a dramatic overhaul.
She was ready to feel something again — physically, mentally, emotionally.

Wanting More Than Just a Workout

Karen knew what she didn’t want:

  • Another short-lived burst of motivation
  • Another plan she couldn’t sustain
  • Another season of starting over

What she wanted instead was accountability.
A place where she could show up regularly.
A place where movement helped her manage stress — not add to it.
And a community where she felt supported, not judged.

Torque stood out because it wasn’t just about workouts.

It was about coaching, consistency, and people.

Building a Rhythm That Actually Worked

Karen committed to coming three times a week — and she stuck to it.

Not because she felt pressured.
Not because she had to “earn” her spot.
But because the structure made it easier to show up than to skip.

Her hybrid approach gave her the best of both worlds:

  • Strength and HIIT workouts that helped her feel strong, energized, and capable
  • 30-minute personal training session each month for focused coaching, accountability, and check-ins

That monthly personal training session became a reset point — a time to reflect, adjust, and stay aligned with her goals.

Instead of burning out, Karen started building momentum.

Stress Down. Confidence Up.

As the weeks went on, Karen noticed changes beyond the physical.

Her workouts became an outlet for stress rather than another task on her to-do list.
She felt better leaving the gym than when she arrived.
She wasn’t chasing extremes anymore — she was building consistency.

And something unexpected happened.

She started looking forward to it.

Now, when you ask Karen about her routine, she’ll tell you she never thought she’d enjoy coming to a gym this much— let alone look forward to working out.

Why Karen’s Story Matters

Karen’s story is for anyone who has lived in the all-or-nothing cycle.

For anyone who’s tried to “flip a switch” and go all in — only to burn out.
For anyone who knows they should take care of themselves, but feels overwhelmed by where to start.
For anyone who just wants to feel better — not perfect.

Karen didn’t change because she found more willpower.
She changed because she found the right environment.

One that offered:

  • Accountability without pressure
  • Structure without rigidity
  • Coaching without judgment
  • Community without comparison

Not All In. Just In.

Karen didn’t promise herself she’d do everything.
She just promised she’d show up.

And that’s where the real change happened.

If you’re in a “nothing” phase right now, here’s what Karen’s story reminds us:

You don’t need to overhaul your life.
You don’t need extreme rules.
You don’t need perfect motivation.

You just need a place that helps you feel supported — and a plan you can actually sustain.

The rest builds from there.
