I hear this one more than almost anything else: “I don’t want to get bulky.”
You say it like it’s obvious. Like it’s just common sense — lift heavy things, get big.
And I get why it feels that way.
You’ve seen the before-and-afters, you’ve heard the warning from a friend of a friend, and somewhere along the way “strength training” and “bulky” got glued together in your head so tight you stopped questioning it.
Here’s what I’ll say for now, and I promise we’ll get into the actual physiology of it next: that fear is doing you a disservice.
It’s kept smart, capable women out of the one room that would probably change how they feel in their body faster than anything else they’ve tried.
You’re not avoiding the weight room because it’s wrong for you — you’re avoiding it because of a myth that’s been repeated so many times it started sounding like fact.
I’m not going to unpack all of it in one post. The real answer deserves more room than that, so we’ll go there next. But I don’t want you sitting with this fear a minute longer than you have to.
So here’s what I actually want you to do: come try a Women’s Strength class before September ends. Just one.
Not because you need to decide anything about lifting forever — just because I want you to feel what it’s actually like in a room built for exactly where you’re starting from, surrounded by women who had the same worry you did.
Grab a spot, show up, and let’s talk after.
You don’t have to believe me yet. Just come see for yourself.
