Strength training is one of the most empowering, effective, and sustainable ways for women to take charge of their health. Whether your goal is to lose weight, gain confidence, or just feel better, lifting weights will support it.
Strength training helps build lean muscle, increases your metabolism, improves posture and bone density, and boosts mental well-being. Unlike cardio-focused workouts that burn calories in the moment, strength training helps you burn more calories throughout the day—even when you’re resting.
For women, especially, lifting can combat the natural decline in muscle mass that occurs with age, maintain hormonal balance, and provide an incredible confidence boost.
If you’ve never picked up a barbell or dumbbell, don’t worry. At CrossFit Torque, we start where you are and teach you the fundamentals of movement before progressing.
✅ Focus on Form First: Your form is more important than the weight you’re lifting. Learn the basics: squats, deadlifts, presses, rows, and carries.
✅ Start with Full-Body Workouts: Two to three full-body workouts per week is a great place to start. This builds balanced strength and allows for proper recovery.
✅ Use Dumbbells, Kettlebells, or Bodyweight: You don’t need fancy machines to get strong. Basic equipment and bodyweight can provide an amazing workout.
✅ Track Progress: Keep a log of your workouts and celebrate every PR—big or small!
What if I’ve never lifted before?
Perfect. Most of our members started as beginners. Our coaches walk you through every movement and ensure you’re confident before adding weight.
Will I get bulky?
No. This is a common fear, but the reality is that building large muscle mass takes years of focused training and nutrition. Most women find that they feel more toned and athletic after just a few weeks.
At Torque, we believe strength is for everyone. We offer:
We also use the Evolt Body Composition Scanner to get real-time insights on your muscle mass, body fat, and metabolic health, so we can build the right plan for you.
You don’t need to be in shape to start—you just need to start. If you’re a current member and unsure where to begin, let’s book a Goal Review Session to map out your strength training journey. If you’re brand new to Torque, we invite you to schedule a No-Sweat Intro to learn more about how we can help you get started safely and confidently.
Strength training isn’t about becoming someone else—it’s about becoming the strongest, most confident version of YOU.
