Congrats Craig on being Torque’s June Member of the Month!

Member Since: November 9th 2025

Craig is one of those ideal athletes to coach! Not only did he absolutely crush his debut Torque Open, he also consistently comes into each ‘regular’ class ready to work hard and support his fellow members. He genuinely wants to learn and improve, asking the coaches to ‘ego check’ his lifting weights and taking every gymnastics cue in stride. Craig also comes in clutch with a quick, witty one-liner I rarely expect. He is a valued member of Torque Nation!”

Meet Craig! Outside the gym I’m a husband and dad, and a lot of my time revolves around family activities, being outdoors, and staying active. Something most people probably don’t know about me is that in college I was really into improv comedy and performed at comedy clubs around Boston and in competitions. I also love BBQ and smoking meats — there’s something very satisfying about spending an entire day perfecting a brisket or ribs.

What was it about CrossFit Torque that made you want to join? I was looking for something that would push me physically again while also bringing back a sense of accountability and community. From the first few classes at Torque, it was obvious this was a place where people genuinely support each other regardless of experience level.

What has kept you coming back to Torque day after day? The people. The coaches do an incredible job creating an environment that is welcoming but still challenges you to improve. It’s one of the few places where everyone is pushing themselves while also cheering everyone else on.

What is your proudest accomplishment thus far? Coming back to CrossFit after time away and being able to put up a strong Open performance less than three months after returning. It reminded me how much consistency and community matter.

What has been your biggest challenge? Learning to stay patient with progress and not compare myself to where I used to be years ago. Consistency and longevity matter more than trying to rush results.

Do you have a favorite movement? The clean and jerk. I love the combination of power, technique, and getting weight overhead.

What piece of advice would you give to someone who might be hesitant to start CrossFit but hasn’t yet? Don’t wait until you feel “in shape enough” to start. Everyone begins somewhere, and the community at Torque makes it approachable no matter your experience level. The hardest part is just walking through the door the first time.

If you could have a superpower what would it be? As a lifelong comic nerd, I’ve definitely thought about this before. I’d actually want three “smaller” superpowers: the ability to make clones of myself, teleportation, and super muscle memory — being able to watch someone do something once and immediately perform it at a master level.
