Some seasons of life ask a lot of us. Careers. Kids. Family responsibilities. Endless to-do lists. For many women, especially in their 40s, it’s easy for fitness to become one more thing that never quite makes it to the top of the list. When you do have an hour to yourself, it can feel easier to skip the workout than to make the effort.

Amanda knows that feeling.

She’s a busy working mom in her mid-40s, and like so many women, she wasn’t looking to become the strongest person in the room. She was looking to feel like herself again.

Today, she describes that transformation like this:

“CrossFit Torque has brought me back to feeling strong, empowered, confident, and genuinely proud of myself.”

Those are some of our favorite words.

Because while we love seeing members hit personal records, the best transformations are the ones that have nothing to do with the number on the barbell.

The Power of Showing Up

One of the most powerful things Amanda shared wasn’t about a workout. It was about a mindset.

“Every class reminds me that I can accomplish anything, even on the days I don’t want to show up.”

Let’s be honest, none of us feels motivated every single day. Some days you’re energized. Other days you’re exhausted from work, the kids have been arguing since breakfast, dinner still needs to be made, and the couch sounds a lot more appealing than a workout.

That’s exactly why we love the mindset Amanda has embraced.

“More than nothing.”

She explains it perfectly:

“The days I don’t feel like it, I just show up, do what I can, and always leave feeling better than when I walked in.”

We couldn’t say it any better ourselves. At Torque, we don’t expect perfection. We believe consistency beats perfection every time. Some days you’ll hit a personal best. Some days you’ll simply move your body for an hour. Both count. Both move you forward.

Strength That Follows You Home

One of the biggest misconceptions about strength training is that it’s only about building muscle. In reality, it changes so much more.

Amanda noticed it in ways she wasn’t expecting.

“I’m lifting more, moving better, and walking through my day with a level of self-confidence I haven’t felt in years.”

That’s the kind of progress that doesn’t stay inside the gym. It shows up when you’re carrying groceries without thinking twice. When you’re playing with your kids. When you tackle something difficult at work. When you catch your reflection and stand a little taller.

Physical strength has a funny way of building confidence everywhere else.

It’s Never “Too Late”

We hear it all the time.

“I’m too out of shape.”

“I’m too busy.”

“I’m too old.”

“I’ll start when life slows down.”

But life rarely slows down. The best time to start is simply when you’re ready. Amanda’s story is a reminder that fitness doesn’t have to mean doing everything perfectly. Sometimes it just means showing up, doing what you can that day, and trusting that those small efforts add up.

Over time, they become something much bigger.

They become confidence.

They become resilience.

They become the feeling that you’re capable of more than you imagined.

And sometimes, they help you find the version of yourself you thought you’d lost. If you’ve been waiting for a sign to put yourself back on your own priority list, maybe this is it.

Come as you are. We’ll meet you there.
