“I love Diane! She came in looking to get comfortable in her body again, showing up consistently each week to really put in the work. As one of our original Semi-Private clients, she has been great to test some new programming on since she is down to do whatever we throw at her with a smile (and/or side-eye) on her face ๐Ÿ™‚ It has been great watching her progress these past couple months, and I am excited to see her gain even more strength and confidence as we keep working together!”

Meet Diane!  I live in Foxboro with my husband and our four kids (ages 17, 16, 15, and 7). When I am not endlessly driving someone to/from practice and activities, I love to read. I was never a big reader but joined a Zoom book club during Covid for connection and something sparked. I now usually read 1-2 books per week.

Why did I join Torque?  I have never been an athlete. I didnโ€™t play sports as a child and have struggled with weight on and off for most of my life. With age, the tips and tricks I used to use no longer worked. Instead of working harder, I did the opposite and did nothing. I was at the point where I didnโ€™t recognize myself in the mirror and started to worry I wouldnโ€™t be able to keep up with my family on vacations. I saw one of Amandaโ€™s posts on Facebook and decided it was time to stop making excuses.

What keeps me coming back?  As soon as I started at Torque this summer, I knew it was the place for me. I was too nervous to jump into any kind of full Group Class so the Semi-Private training has been perfect for me. The workouts are specifically geared towards my strength/fitness level and the coaches take the time to show you proper technique. Everyone has been so welcoming and helpful. I have never felt intimidated, and everyone makes you feel like you belong.

Some of my accomplishments: I started at Torque when I was in the worst shape of my life. So for me, it has been about seeing consistent, small changes that are making a larger impact on my life. I have more energy and am feeling stronger every day!

Some of my challenges: My biggest challenge has definitely been finding the time to do this for myself. The schedule for a family of six is no joke! Back to school and fall sports schedules almost broke me. Luckily, having the support of the coaches has allowed me to stay on this journey.

Advice for anyone that is hesitant to start CrossFit: I would tell them to come check it out. There are so many programs available that one will be the right fit for you. Thereโ€™s something for everyone at Torque. If I can do it, you can too!

What would be my ideal superpower? Super speed – anything to get through household chores faster!
