There’s a version of a gym membership that looks like this: you join, you go for a few months, life gets busy, and you quietly stop. Most gyms are built around that cycle. They count on it, actually.
Sarah’s story is the opposite.
She walked into CrossFit Torque in November 2017. She already knew CrossFit — she’d trained in other boxes when life had taken her to other places. She knew the methodology, respected the coaching, and understood what a great community could feel like. She was looking for that again.
She found it. And she never left.
In the eight years since, Sarah has lived a full life inside these walls. She’s a nurse in a hospital emergency department — a job that demands everything from you, physically and emotionally, every single shift. She’s a wife. A mom of two. And she’s trained through every chapter that came with all of that.
Pregnancy. Postpartum. Injuries that sidelined her and recoveries that brought her back. And now perimenopause — a stage of life that too many fitness spaces still don’t know how to handle well.
Through all of it, Torque’s coaches adapted with her.
“The coaches are amazing and always meet me where I’m at,” she wrote. “The team at Torque is knowledgeable, encouraging, humbling and fun. It’s a welcoming environment and I’m so happy I joined all those years ago.”
What makes Sarah’s story especially powerful is the breadth of how she’s engaged with Torque. It hasn’t just been group classes. She’s done personal training, nutrition consulting, in-house competitions, and accountability challenges. She’s used every tool available — and that’s the point. A great gym should have more to offer than just a workout floor.
Sarah is proof that the right community doesn’t just keep you coming back. It grows with you. It adjusts when your body changes, when your schedule shifts, when life asks more of you than you thought you had to give.
Eight years in, she’s still showing up.
That’s not loyalty to a gym. That’s trust built over time, one class at a time.
If you’re a woman navigating a season of change — postpartum, an injury, perimenopause, or just the relentless pace of doing it all — Sarah’s story is for you. We’d love to be part of your story too.
