When it comes to fitness benefits, consistency is the secret ingredient to success. While short bursts of motivation can get you started, it’s the steady commitment to your workouts and healthy habits that truly lead to long-term transformation. At Torque, we emphasize the importance of building sustainable fitness routines that keep you progressing toward your goals. And keep in mind, goals can be changing, so having a Coach on your side to continuously update is important!
Why Consistency Matters
Builds Lasting Habits
The more regularly you engage in exercise, the more it becomes a natural part of your daily life.
Over time, working out shifts from being a task to an automatic part of your routine.
Improves Physical Performance
Regular workouts help increase strength, endurance, and mobility.
Your body adapts to the demands placed on it, leading to improved athletic performance over time.
This is why at Torque, our workouts vary day to day and week to week.
Enhances Mental Well-Being
Exercise releases endorphins, which help reduce stress and boost mood.
A consistent routine fosters discipline and resilience, improving overall mental clarity.
No one ever leaves Torque in a bad mood!
Supports Sustainable Weight Management
Fad diets and extreme workouts may deliver quick results, but they rarely last.
A consistent approach to fitness and nutrition leads to sustainable weight loss and muscle gain.
Reduces Risk of Injury
Regular workouts strengthen muscles, joints, and connective tissue, lowering the risk of injuries.
Establishing proper movement patterns over time ensures long-term fitness without setbacks.
Think about all of the snow storms we get and shoveling – we want to make sure you can safely move your body!
Ok, but how do I Stay Consistent?
Set Realistic Goals
Break down big goals into smaller, achievable steps.
Focus on process-based goals, such as attending a specific number of workouts per week.
Maybe it’s taking a certain number of steps each day!
Follow a Structured Program
At Torque, we offer personalized personal training, semi-private training, and group classes to help you stay on track. Not to mention Nutrition Coaching.
Our coaches design programs tailored to your individual fitness level and progression.
We have a group of people in the peri-menopause, menopause and post-menopause stages of their lives – we will make sure they have the best workout possible!
Create a Schedule and Stick to It
Treat your workouts like non-negotiable appointments.
Choose times that fit your lifestyle and commit to them.
It’s okay to have a back up plan. Getting up at 4:30am to hit the 5am class can get tough, so plan for the 6pm as well!
Find Accountability and Support
Join a community of like-minded individuals who will encourage and motivate you.
Work with a personal trainer or enroll in nutrition coaching for additional guidance and accountability.
At Torque you’ll inevitably find someone else who works out at the same class time and you’ll find you hold each other accountable to showing up. I heard it this morning “Thanks Kim for texting me and getting me to class this morning!”
Track Progress and Celebrate Wins
Keep track of workouts, strength gains, and other achievements. We use an app called SugarWOD at Torque to track (included in membership).
Celebrate small victories to stay motivated on your journey. Every Friday we celebrate in our private group “bright spots” which can be fitness, nutrition or life related. They are usually “small” by nature, but ever important to growth.
