At Torque Health and Fitness, we believe that every member’s journey begins with a strong foundation. That’s why we start all new and returning members with our On-Ramp program. This essential program is designed for individuals who are new to CrossFit, those returning after a break, or even seasoned CrossFitters transitioning from another gym. The goal is to ensure every member, regardless of experience, starts with the tools and knowledge needed for success.

Building a Solid Foundation

Think of it like inspecting a house before purchase. The foundation is crucial, and if it’s compromised, the house won’t stand strong. Similarly, our On-Ramp program helps us assess where you are in your fitness journey—your mental readiness, physical mobility, and overall goals. This assessment allows our coaches to provide the personalized guidance you need, especially in a group setting.

Without this foundational step, it would be challenging for our coaching staff to help you progress effectively in a class environment. Whether you’re joining our personal training path or heading into group classes, this phase is essential to tailor your experience and ensure you grow from a solid foundation.

Personalized Attention in Our On-Ramp Program

Our On-Ramp program consists of five personal training sessions, offering a unique opportunity for us to get to know you, and for you to familiarize yourself with us and the gym environment. It’s not just an introduction to our coaching and services, but a relationship-building process where we learn about your specific fitness goals.

For instance, I had a member who wanted to improve her double unders. Thanks to our thorough On-Ramp process and goal reviews, I knew this was a focus for her. During a workout that involved both barbell movements and jump rope, I structured her training so she could work on her double unders without overthinking the barbell work. This individualized approach is what makes the On-Ramp program so crucial.

A Program for Everyone—Even Returning Members

You might wonder if returning members or those coming from other CrossFit gyms need to go through the On-Ramp program again. The answer is always yes. Over time, personal fitness goals and mobility can change, and different gyms may have varying philosophies or training methods. We want to ensure that every member, new or returning, understands our approach to training and feels fully supported in their journey.

Our On-Ramp program covers everything you need to know to feel comfortable and confident in the gym. From learning where the equipment is located and how to log workouts, to answering questions like, “What does RX mean?” or “How do I know which weight to lift?”—we’ve got you covered. We also dive into more specific topics, such as the importance of strength training, proper nutrition, mobility, and recovery.

This program is designed to address all the questions and concerns new members may have, setting the stage for a successful fitness journey. Our goal is to ensure you feel confident, informed, and ready to tackle every workout.
