Heading into the Busy Holiday Season Part 3: November 18th – The New New Year

In January, we’re often bombarded with the concept of “New Year’s resolutions,” with the idea of a fresh start tied to January 1st. But why wait? Instead of looking ahead to January, what if you set November 18th as your “new year” – a day to set goals and create momentum that carries through the holidays and beyond?

Set Resolutions That Fit Your Real Life

Setting meaningful resolutions on November 18th can help you approach the holidays with a clear focus and intention. Rather than setting broad goals to “be healthier” or “get fit,” consider setting specific, realistic goals that you can incorporate into your routine right away. For example, aim to attend three CrossFit Torque classes weekly, drink 64 ounces of water daily, or prioritize adding veggies & protein to each meal.

If we start building the habit now, when the schedule starts to get full, we have habits to fall back onto.

November resolutions allow you to make steady, manageable changes that help you feel good through the season and give you a head start on January.

Work with a Torque Coach to Find Your Focus

Goals are much easier to achieve when you’re not going at it alone. Working with a Torque Coach can help you identify goals that fit your unique lifestyle, set benchmarks, and provide the support to keep you accountable. Our coaches work with members to set small, achievable goals that keep them engaged and excited to stay active during the season. You don’t have to overhaul your life; even small changes can make a big difference in how you feel.

Track Your Progress and Celebrate Wins

Through the holiday season, tracking your progress on goals like workouts, nutrition, and sleep can help you see the cumulative effect of small, positive changes. It’s easy to overlook these accomplishments when focusing only on big-picture resolutions. Instead, remember that each action contributes to your progress. By creating a system that celebrates small wins, you’re setting a positive tone for the new year ahead.

Tip: Try using a journal or an app to note down daily accomplishments – like going to CrossFit Torque, drinking enough water, or making a balanced meal. Seeing your progress adds motivation and reminds you of your commitment.
