Member since March, 2016

Brian Lampert is one of the nicest members you will meet. He is the first one to cheer fellow members on during workouts and always ready for a challenge. One of the few people we know who enjoys burpees, but also is ready to lift some heavy weight! Get to know this awesome guy!

“Some of you might not know, but over the past two years, I re-discovered my love for woodworking – it amazes me! I love being able to create something from raw material.

My close friends call me ‘Bubu’. I got the nickname freshman year of high school from one of the football players. Later the same football player and I went to college together  – there were days that I would hear ‘Bubu’ being yelled across the cafeteria!!  Fond and Funny memories!

I’m married to Natalie and we have a daughter Roxy. I met my wife at a friend’s Halloween party in 2006. Originally, I wasn’t even going to go because I was scheduled to work but my boss came to me the day of the party and told me to go and he would cover my shifts.  I drove home, threw together a costume and drove to the Cape to my friend’s house.  Natalie and I sat on a couch the entire night talking and when morning came I walked her to her car so she could go to work. Here’s the kicker – I couldn’t remember her name! I had to ask my friend later that morning. But nonetheless – we have been together since!

The reason I joined CrossFit Torque was my wife, Natalie. She had been a member and was in love with it. At the time, I was wasting a ton of money with a personal trainer, elsewhere, and I was not getting the results that I was looking for.  My wife suggested to stop the personal training sessions and try out CrossFit Torque. She challenged me: if I gave it a chance at Torque, but did not like it, then she would pay for a month of my training. Well, I tried Torque, and have not looked back since! In fact, in March will be my 5 year Torque-iversary!

The thing that keeps me coming back is the feeling of family inside the gym. Every coach I have had through the years have all had the same thing in mind: my safety and well being. It’s never how much you can lift or how fast you can run, but do the best you can with the capabilities you have.

From past coaches like Jake and Alex, to current coaches like Lea and Brian, the feeling of family and community has maintained and is very much alive.

My favorite workout by far the CrossFit Total. It’s when we figure out our max Back Squat, Strict Press and Deadlift! This is the one that I most look forward to when we do it twice a year.

So, here’s my advice to someone who might be considering trying CrossFit but is a little hesitant. “Do not try just any CrossFit … but rather, just come to CrossFit Torque. You will walk in a stranger and leave as family. You will be pushed to your limits, not someone else’s, and you will have the support of an amazing community to get you through anything.

Lastly I would just like to thank Owner Amanda for everything she has done for me, and always being available no matter what is going on.

Also, I would like to thank Coach Lea, for her guidance and coaching. I am grateful to be a part of this family.
