What Does That Mean?
National Nutrition Month is an annual campaign created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The purpose is to invite everyone to learn about making informed food choices and developing healthy eating and physical activity habits.
The theme this year is to “Personalize Your Plate.” Nutrition is not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. Everyone has different tastes, bodies and nutritional goals. By working with a Registered Dietitian, nutrition is customized and tailored to the needs of the individual.
I have been a dietitian for almost a decade and it still surprises me how many people are not aware of the different professional roles that a dietitian plays! Dietitians can work in so many different settings such as hospitals, food service, community, administrative, government, hospice care, and more.
Studying nutrition has been very interesting and rewarding. I also find great pleasure in being able to help others. More often then not, I talk to people who struggle with weight loss after failing many different ‘fad diets.’ I help sort out the science and provide it to my clients in a way they can understand.
Schedule a complimentary ‘No Snack Intro’ with myself to discuss your specific nutrition goals and how nutritional coaching can help!
