Congrats Meghan on being December Member of the Month!
Member Since: December 26th 2024
“Yes, Meghan! Meghan is awesome to have in class! She is a little reserved and keeps to her back corner spot, but jokes around and shows support for her fellow afternooners. She’s a working mom, and her weeks can get crazy, but she makes a point to show up and work hard!”
-Coach Mary

Meet Meghan! I grew up in Franklin. I have 3 sisters. I have always been active either playing soccer in school or running. I was a surgical tech at St.V’s for three years and then put myself through nursing school when my son was 3yrs old. Once I graduated, I started working in the Emergency Dept and have been there ever since, 17 yrs later! I did some travel nursing during Covid. I have two kids (my son is now 20 and my daughter is 13), two cats and a dog. I love to hike. My sister and I do a 20 mile hike every year.Â
What was it about CrossFit Torque that made you want to join? CrossFit Torque had what I was looking for. I wanted a gym where I could learn to liftheavy weights. My usual “go to” workouts were no longer working like they used to. I also needed something that fit my busy schedule.
What has kept you coming back to Torque day after day? And/or favorite thing about CFT?  The community at CrossFit Torque is by far the best I have seen and been a part of (and I have been to a few gyms). The On-Ramp program was exactly what I needed to get started. They taught me the fundamentals of CrossFit and laid down building blocks to do exactly what I was looking for…. to get stronger. That gave me the tiny bit of courage I needed to walk through the front door the first few days. Then I knew I found my place. The coaches are amazing. They take the time to work with you and give constructive feedback to better your form/moves. Who doesn’t want that!?
What is your proudest accomplishment thus far? A few of my biggest accomplishments are raising two kids myself and buying a house. I also ran a 50-mile marathon at Mt. Ascutney in VT.Â
What has been your biggest challenge? My biggest challenge is finding the time. Between working full time and taking care of my kids/house and furry babies I don’t have much time left for me.
Do you have a favorite movement? Deadlifts are my favorite movement, but Power Cleans are right behind them.
What piece of advice would you give to someone who might be hesitant to start CrossFit but hasn’t yet? Do it. Sign up for that class. Walk through that door. Ask the questions and find out.
If you could have a super power what would it be? Teleport for sure! I could get so much done faster.
