Started a GLP-1 and Don’t Know Where the Gym Fits?

I’ve had this exact conversation with a handful of you over the past few months, usually the same way — you catch me between classes, or you send me a message that starts with “so, weird question,” and then you tell me you started a GLP-1 and you’re not totally sure what that means for your workouts anymore.

Here’s what I want you to know first: you’re not the only one asking, and it’s not a weird question.

Maybe your appetite’s changed and you’re not sure you’re eating enough to lift heavy some days.

Maybe your energy comes and goes in a way it never used to, and you’re second-guessing whether to even show up to class when you’re running on fumes.

Maybe nobody’s actually told you whether it’s safe to keep lifting at all, and you’ve just been quietly wondering instead of asking.

All of that is real, and all of it is common. You made a choice to start this medication, and now you need to make another choice.

Show up.

I’m not going to pretend there’s nothing to think about. Appetite changes affect how much fuel you’re giving your body before and after a workout. Energy dips are real, and they’re not “in your head” or a sign you’re not trying hard enough.

And yes, there are things worth knowing about training on a GLP-1 that are different from training without one.

But none of that means the gym isn’t for you right now.

If anything, it’s more of a reason to be here — with people who know what you’re dealing with, and coaching that adjusts to where you’re actually at that day, not where you were six months ago.

So if this is you — if you started a GLP-1 and you’ve been quietly wondering where you fit in here — I see you, and I’d love to actually talk it through.

No judgment, no assumptions. Just a real conversation about what’s going on with your body right now and how we build around it.

More on exactly how we do that soon. For now, just know: you don’t have to figure this out alone.
