Why I CrossFit (Now I Really Know)

Amanda A first joined CrossFit Torque years ago.

Like many women, life shifted.

She became a busy working mom with an 8-year-old. Travel for work increased. Schedules tightened. For a season, flexibility mattered most — so she stayed active at home through Street Parking workouts.

She kept moving.
She stayed connected.
But something was missing.

Last summer, she came back.

Not because she wasn’t working out.
But because she wanted to feel something different.

Stronger.
More empowered.
More confident.

And that’s exactly what she found.

“More Than Nothing”

Amanda describes one of the biggest mindset shifts she’s had since rejoining:

Focusing on a “more than nothing” approach.

Not all-or-nothing.
Not perfect attendance.
Not crushing every workout.

Just showing up.

“The days I don’t feel like it, I just show up, do what I can, and always leave feeling better than when I walked in.”

For a mid-40s working mom who travels, that mindset changes everything.

Some days you feel strong.
Some days you’re exhausted.
Some days you’re jet-lagged and juggling emails.

But when the goal becomes “more than nothing,” consistency becomes sustainable.

And confidence follows.

Stronger in Every Way

Since coming back, Amanda says:

“CrossFit Torque has brought me back to feeling strong, empowered, confident, and genuinely proud of myself as a mid-40s busy working mom.”

She’s lifting more.
Moving better.
Walking through her day with a level of self-confidence she hasn’t felt in years.

And then came Sintra.

After a long day of travel, she found herself dragging a 50-pound suitcase and a work bag up hundreds of stairs and steep hills to get to her hotel.

Her text said it all:

“I know why I CrossFit…
To carry and lug a 50 pound suitcase and a work bag up 100’s of stairs and hills to get to hotel in Sintra!!! Holy shit 😅 but worth it!”

That moment wasn’t planned.

She didn’t train specifically for that hill.

She trained consistently.

She showed up — even on the days she didn’t feel like it.

And when life asked her to be strong, she was.

This Is Why Moms Train

Working moms don’t need extreme fitness.

They need:
• Energy
• Confidence
• Resilience
• Strength that carries into real life

They need to feel proud of themselves again.

Amanda didn’t come back chasing aesthetics.

She came back for capability.

For empowerment.

For the reminder that she can accomplish anything — even on the days she doesn’t want to show up.

And now?

She knows exactly why she CrossFits.

To be ready.

For the stairs.
For the travel.
For the long days.
For life.
