A few weeks ago, I got a message from a friend, co-dance Mom, and Torque alumni, Jessica S, who also sits on the Walk To End Alzheimer’s Board Committee. When the committee was brainstorming of local businesses that would be a good fit for the kickoff event, she immediately thought of Torque and our program for folks 55+ called ForeverFit. She connected me via email with Diane, who runs the event to start a dialogue.
I didn’t have to think about it for long. Yes, we’d be there.
Why this one matters to us
Torque has always been about more than workouts. It’s about showing up for people — and showing up for the causes that touch the people already in our gym. Chances are, if you’ve spent any time in our community, you know someone whose family has been affected by Alzheimer’s. We do too.
So when Jessica and Diane reached out, immediately we knew this was a good relationship — as our priority is to help people move and stay strong as they age.
What we’ll actually be doing at the table
We’re not just handing out flyers (okay, we’ll have a couple of those too). We wanted the table to be something people actually stop at:
The bigger point
Movement supports a strong body and a sharp mind — that’s not a slogan, it’s just true, and it’s the whole reason we wanted a seat at this particular table. Whether you stop by to test your balance, enter the raffle, or just say hi, we’d love to meet you.
Come find us at the Foxboro Community Center Tuesday Sept 15 from 6-8pm.
We’ll be the ones timing you on one foot.
