Tell us about you! Job, hobbies, aspirations, etc 🙂
I am a mother of two crazy, energetic, amazing kiddos.  I am an esthetician, and I absolutely love my job and working with people. I try to always be active with my kids.  I enjoy a good book.  I love love love food, so I need CrossFit to balance that and keep me in check.  My biggest aspiration is to just be a good person on a daily basis, and to guide my children toward that as well. And hey, if we can laugh in the meantime, even better 🙂

What was it about CrossFit Torque that made you want to join?

I was initially attracted to CrossFit Torque because of the parallels I saw to when I used to be on team sports… loooooong ago.    I loved the idea of working out alongside other people, all who share the same goals.  I also liked the Coach aspect of it.  I need guidance when it comes to working out and with CFT the coaches are there to guide me, fix me, and support me.

What has kept you coming back to Torque, day after day??

I come back to Torque each day knowing that when 7am hits I have already conquered the most challenging part of my day. I also love seeing the same faces each day, all which support one another in their own personal goals.  Most importantly, I feel better and stronger since I’ve started at CFT and I’m not willing to go backwards in that aspect.

What is your favorite thing about working out at Torque?

My favorite part of Torque is the supportive atmosphere and the people.  I could be (and often am) the last one to finish a WOD and I get cheered until the end and fist-bumped when I finish.  It’s a small gesture but a huge motivator!

What is your proudest accomplishment thus far?

It still has to be the pull-up.  I never thought I’d do one again (probably since I was 20), and to see the results of practicing through all the different modified versions is amazing.

What has been your biggest challenge?

I know I’d be even stronger if I could do more days at CFT, and sometimes I tell myself the 2 days aren’t making a difference…but I know they are and so I stick with it 🙂

What is your favorite CF movement to do?

Oddly I love doing anything upside down!  It’s where I’m strongest and most comfortable, go figure 🙂

What piece of advice would you give to someone who is looking to start CrossFit but hasn’t yet?

I would tell them to just come to CFT and start by talking to Amanda, or any of the other coaches.   Watch the camaraderie that happens during the classes, and talk to people who are there.  I think people’s biggest fear is the unknown of what to expect.  If they just come in they will see people just like them, just doing the best they can and having a blast!!
