TorqueNation Updates!

1. Upcoming storm – we should be fine for Monday in terms of having a normal schedule – but please check your emails/website/Facebook by Sunday at 8pm for a final say. (if nothing is posted, then we will be open per usual). 

2. Injury Prevention Screening! We have partnered with local Physical Therapist Rob Strachan and his co-worker from Foundation Performance Sports Medicine in Plainville. Our goal is to have them screen you, our athletes, for any potential injuries – this is FREE – so please take advantage of it!  Rob will be at CrossFit Torque Monday Feb 23 from 9-10:30am and Wednesday March 11 from 3:45-6pm.  There will be a sign up sheet at the gym for slots every 10 minutes or so. 

3. Clean & Jerk Clinic – Coach Amanda will be putting on two Clean & Jerk Clinics in the month of March for our Adult members. 4 classes total, each 75 minutes long.  The days and times are still TBD – I would like to hear a few suggestions for what works best for athletes. Currently there are votes for: Mon or Wed 10-11:15am. There is 1 spot left in this time slot. Then we will have a night time slot from 7pm-8:15pm (most likely Tues or Wed night) – currently 2-3 spots left in this one. Email me back if you are interested in either! 
4. Challenge of the Month! January was Rowing. February was Shoveling. March will be ….. Double-Unders!   Your challenge: partner up! One partner must have over 15 consecutive double-unders while the other must currently have anywhere from 0 to less than 8 consecutive double-unders. Once you find your partner, email me and add your Team name to the whiteboard at the gym. Your goal is to complete as many double-unders as possible between you and your partner from March 1 and 31st. The point of a partner is to hold each other accountable for practicing and completing the dubs. Winners will each receive a $20 value to our retail store – can be used for a new jump rope, any of our paleo food products or apparel.  Let’s get moving! #TorqueNationJumps
